The screw conveyor press is a solid-liquid separation system developed by our company, integrating conveying and mechanical pressing functions. Designed to process grid intercepts, fibrous materials, and organic waste, it performs continuous conveying, compression, and dehydration to reduce material volume and weight, facilitating subsequent transportation, disposal, or resource recovery. As a key component of grid cleaning systems, it is widely used in municipal and industrial wastewater pretreatment or solid waste treatment processes.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The main components of the equipment include:

  • The drive device is a shaft-mounted speed reducer with compact structure.
  • The spiral spindle, the core working component, is typically designed with variable pitch or diameter (i.e., gradually decreasing pitch or increasing diameter from the feed end to the discharge end) to achieve progressive material compression.
  • Screen tube/filtration mesh: A cylindrical body enclosing the spiral spindle, with surface perforations or screen holes designed to separate moisture during the pressing process.
  • Feed hopper and discharge port: The feed hopper receives upstream material; the discharge port is typically equipped with an adjustable backpressure device (e.g., spring baffle), which controls the degree of dewatering by regulating discharge resistance.
  • Collection tank and frame: Collects the filtered liquid and supports the entire device.
  1. Working Principle

The wet material enters the equipment through the feed port, where rotating spiral blades initially propel it forward. As the spiral chamber gradually narrows during conveyance, the material experiences progressively increasing spatial compression forces. Simultaneously, the backpressure device at the discharge port provides counteracting resistance. Through this dual mechanism, the material undergoes continuous progressive compression, with internal moisture being expelled through surrounding screens and flowing into the collection trough. The dehydrated solid material is then discharged from the outlet, achieving simultaneous completion of conveyance and compression processes.

  4. Adjustable discharge moisture content: The moisture content of discharged material can be controlled within a specific range by adjusting the backpressure device, to meet different post-processing requirements.
  5. Closed operation: The equipment may adopt a closed structure designed to minimize odor emission and wastewater leakage during the operational process.
