The rotary drum screen cleaner (also known as drum screen or roller screen) is a high-efficiency, continuous automated solid-liquid separation device independently developed and manufactured by our company. Featuring a unique cylindrical drum structure, it integrates interception, sludge removal, and discharge processes into a single unit, specifically designed for efficient separation of fine suspended solids and floating debris in water. Widely used in municipal wastewater treatment, industrial wastewater pretreatment, pump station inlets, and water plant intake points, it serves as a critical component to ensure stable operation of subsequent treatment equipment and enhance overall processing efficiency.

  • operational principle

The wastewater enters from the central axial end of the drum and, under the action of gravity, flows outward through the circumferentially distributed gaps of the screen. Solid impurities in the water that exceed the screen gaps (such as hair, fibers, plastic fragments, fruit peels, etc.) are intercepted by the internal filter screen of the drum.

As impurities accumulate, the liquid level differential gradually increases. When the preset threshold is reached (or triggered by timed control), the drive mechanism activates automatically, causing the drum to rotate slowly around its axis. Simultaneously, the slag-cleaning tooth rake or flushing system mounted on the drum's top begins operation, scraping off or flushing away retained contaminants. The collected debris is then channeled into the upper screw conveyor press or slag collection hopper, achieving automated conveyance, compression reduction, and centralized discharge of solid residues. The filtered water flows radially out of the equipment.

The system operates continuously or intermittently with an enclosed design, effectively reducing odor emission and environmental pollution.

Critical parts undergo specialized processing to ensure wear and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for complex water environments.
