The LC-type lime silo is a specialized integrated system designed by our company for storing, breaking arches, measuring, and conveying dry powder materials such as powdered lime (both quicklime and hydrated lime). Featuring an integrated silo design, anti-clogging and arch-breaking system, and environmental dust removal devices, this product provides a sealed, moisture-proof, and continuously stable raw material storage and preparation unit for water treatment, flue gas desulfurization, and chemical processes. It facilitates the automation and clean operation of powder dosing systems.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The equipment is a vertical cylindrical steel structure integrated system, with the main systems including:

  • Cage System: The main structure is typically fabricated from carbon steel (Q235B), with the inner walls treated for wear resistance or corrosion resistance. A maintenance platform equipped with safety guardrails is installed at the top. The cage body adopts a fully sealed design to effectively prevent material moisture absorption and compaction, as well as dust dispersion.
  • Key component: The anti-breakage arch system, designed to address issues like bridge formation and mouse holes caused by moisture and static pressure in powdered materials. It typically includes:
  • Cage wall vibrator (air gun or electric vibrator): operates intermittently to loosen materials near the cage wall.
  • Fluidization device: A fluidizing plate or fluidizing rod is installed at the conical section, with compressed dry air introduced to fluidize the material, ensuring smooth feeding.
    • Material level monitoring system: Equipped with RF admittance level meters or radar level meters, it continuously monitors the material level in the storage bin, triggering high/low level alarms to alert operators for replenishment.
    • The bottom feeding system is typically connected to a star-shaped discharge valve (which shuts off the fan) or a screw feeder, delivering the lime in the silo to the downstream lime milk preparation system or direct dosing point in a stable and controlled manner.
  1. Working Principle

The lime powder tanker delivers the powder to the top of the silo via pneumatic conveying through a feeding pipe. During feeding, the silo top dust collector activates automatically. When downstream feeding is required during storage, the anti-clogging and arch-breaking system (e.g., intermittently activating air cannons or fluidization devices) is initiated to disrupt potential material arches. Under the combined effects of gravity and fluidization, the lime powder flows through the conical section into the star-shaped discharge valve at the bottom. The discharge rate is controlled by adjusting the valve's rotational speed, which synchronizes with the downstream preparation system's demand to ensure continuous and stable material supply.

Designed for long-term, stable operation, it meets the continuous production feed requirements.
  4. High automation level: Material levels can be remotely monitored and alarm-triggered, while unloading is interlocked with downstream equipment, reducing manual supervision and enhancing the automation of the entire dosing system.
  5. Comprehensive safety design: The system is equipped with pressure safety devices and essential maintenance facilities, with safety requirements for operation and maintenance fully considered during the design phase.
