The SQ-type fully automatic filter is a mechanical filtration system that operates entirely automatically through hydraulic siphon principle. This product requires no external power supply or complex electrical control systems. With its unique internal structure design, it can automatically complete the entire cycle of filtration, backwashing, sludge discharge, and filter regeneration. It provides a cost-effective and easy-to-manage filtration solution for removing suspended solids and particulate matter from water.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The main body of the equipment is a cylindrical filter tank made of carbon steel or stainless steel, with the core structure including:

  • The filter medium layer: usually filled with quartz sand, anthracite and other multi-layer filter materials, as the core of impurity retention.
  • Hydraulic siphon system: including siphon pipe, auxiliary pipe and destruction bucket, is the key component to realize automatic backwash.
  • Water distribution and collection system: ensures uniform water flow through the filter layer.
  1. Working Principle
  • During the filtration process, raw water flows downward through the filter media layer, where impurities are retained while the clean water is collected by the bottom water collection system.
  • Backwash trigger: As impurities accumulate in the filter layer, the resistance increases and the water level in the tank rises. When the water level reaches the preset height of the siphon auxiliary pipe, a siphon effect is formed.
  • Automatic backwashing: The siphon effect rapidly converts the stored water in the tank and external inflow into a high-speed upward flow, which forcefully backwashes the filter media, carrying contaminants away with the drainage.
  • Circulation restoration: When the water level in the tank drops to the point where the siphon is broken and the air intake is disrupted, the backwash stops, and the equipment automatically resumes filtration mode.
