precision filter

  • Detailed Description
  • Product Overview

The precision filter is a terminal or protective filtration device designed and manufactured by our company for water and liquid processes. Equipped with specialized precision filtration elements, this product physically intercepts and removes suspended particles, colloids, microorganisms (such as bacteria), and minute impurities in liquids at micron or larger scales. It provides a compact and user-friendly solution to enhance product quality, protect downstream precision equipment, or meet specific process cleanliness requirements.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The equipment features a pressure-bearing tank structure, primarily comprising:

  • Shell: Typically constructed from stainless steel (SS304/316L) or carbon steel with plastic-lined/coated surfaces, these vertical or horizontal pressure vessels are engineered to withstand high-pressure environments.
  • Filter element: The core functional component, installed within the housing. Common types include:
  • Filter cartridge type: including polypropylene (PP) melt-blown filter cartridges, polyether sulfone (PES) pleated filter cartridges, and activated carbon composite filter cartridges.
  • Bag-type: A bag filter made of various fibrous materials.
  • Media-type (e.g., for fine filtration): packed filters using quartz sand, activated carbon, etc. (Note: This type is generally classified as a multi-media filter).
    • Piping and valve system: includes inlet, outlet, exhaust valve, and drain/discharge port, used for process control and backwashing.
    • Differential pressure monitoring device (optional): Indicates the pressure difference across the filter element, serving as a basis for assessing clogging severity and determining replacement or cleaning.
  1. Working Principle

The liquid to be filtered enters the housing through the filter inlet under system pressure and flows through the filter element.

  • Filtration process: The liquid passes through the micropores or fiber layer of the filter element, where particulate impurities larger than the filtration precision are retained on the surface or in the deeper layers of the filter element. The clean liquid flows out through the outlet.
  • Retention and Saturation: As the system operates, retained impurities gradually accumulate, resulting in an increase in filtration resistance (i.e., pressure drop).
  • Maintenance: When the pressure difference reaches the set value or the effluent quality declines, it indicates the filter element is approaching saturation and requires maintenance. The maintenance method depends on the filter element type:
  • Disposable filter cartridge/filter bag: Replace.
  • Washable filter element: can be backwashed or chemically cleaned to restore partial performance.
  • Core Technical Features
    1. Extensive range of filtration precision options: A variety of filter elements are available, with precision levels ranging from 0.1 microns to 100 microns, to meet diverse liquid purification or particle retention requirements.
    2. The operation resistance is relatively low, and the flux is stable: reasonable flow channel design and high-quality filter materials help to maintain a low working pressure drop in the early stage of filtration and maintain a relatively stable processing flux during its service life.
    3. Operation and maintenance are relatively simple: The equipment structure is designed to facilitate quick filter element installation and removal. Some models support online filter element replacement, which may reduce system downtime.
    4. The device features a compact structure and minimal footprint, with an integrated design that allows easy installation as a bypass or terminal filtration unit in existing pipeline systems.
    5. Versatile material compatibility: The housing and filter element materials can be selected based on the chemical properties of the liquid being processed (e.g., pH, oxidizing capacity) to enhance the equipment's applicability and durability.
