The Elevating Aeration Tube (System) is a modular, maintenance-friendly aeration device developed by our company. This innovative solution integrates the aeration tube, air delivery hose, and lifting frame into a single mobile unit. Designed for wastewater treatment plants, it enables complete aeration assembly elevation above water levels for maintenance, cleaning, or replacement without draining the tank or affecting adjacent units. Particularly suitable for environments requiring frequent maintenance or where water quality is prone to clogging.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The entire system consists of independent, scalable modules, primarily comprising:

  • Lifting frame and counterweight system: A rigid frame typically constructed from stainless steel (e.g., SS304/SS316) or corrosion-resistant alloys, designed to support all components. The counterweight at the base or its configuration ensures stable sinking and smooth lifting in water.
  • Aeration pipe assembly: The core aeration unit fixed on the lifting frame. Aeration pipes made of rubber membrane, corundum, or other materials may be used, with specifications and performance selected according to treatment requirements.
  • Air delivery hose and distributor: Use reinforced rubber or PVC hose to connect the aeration pipe to the fixed main air pipe at the bottom of the tank. The hose length must meet the maximum lifting height requirement and possess good flexibility and pressure resistance. The distributor ensures uniform air distribution to all aeration pipes.
  • Lifting device: usually includes a lifting chain, wire rope or guide screw, and a pool-side lifting machine (hand-operated, electric or pneumatic).
  1. Working Principle
  • Under normal operation, compressed air is delivered from the fixed main pipe at the pool bottom through a flexible hose to the aeration pipe on the lifting frame, enabling aeration.
  • Maintenance status: When maintenance is required, operators use the lifting device at the pool top to slowly raise the entire frame along with the aeration pipes and hoses above the water surface via a lifting chain/rope. After detaching from the water, inspection, cleaning, or replacement can be performed directly at the pool edge. Upon completion, the frame is lowered back to its designed position to resume operation.
  • Core technical features
  1. The system's core feature is its maintenance convenience: "holistic improvement" is its defining characteristic. It eliminates the traditional requirement for shutdown and tank cleaning before major repairs of fixed aeration systems, potentially significantly reducing maintenance time, complexity, and workload.
  2. Ensure system continuity: The maintenance of individual or grouped modules theoretically does not affect the normal aeration of other un-upgraded modules, thereby ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the wastewater treatment system and minimizing production downtime losses.
  3. For water inflow prone to scaling and microbial adhesion blockages, the design can be upgraded to enable regular physical cleaning, which helps maintain aeration efficiency.
  4. Flexible installation and replacement: The system can be installed or fully replaced even when the pool is full of water, offering a flexible solution for both new installations and retrofitting of existing projects.
  5. Structural considerations: The pool roof must accommodate installation and lifting operations with sufficient space and load-bearing capacity; flexible hoses, as moving components, require fatigue and aging resistance to ensure long-term reliability; lifting operations may cause minor disturbances to adjacent water areas.

  • Typical Application Fields

This system is particularly suitable for scenarios where maintenance of aeration equipment requires high convenience, or where frequent shutdowns for tank cleaning are not feasible.

  • The renovation and upgrade of existing aeration systems in wastewater treatment plants can be carried out without production suspension or only with partial output reduction, resulting in minimal impact on production.
  • Water quality is prone to clogging in industrial wastewater treatment, such as papermaking, food processing, and certain chemical wastewater, which can easily cause scaling or fiber entanglement in aeration tanks.
  • For aeration tanks with deep or hard-to-empty sections, the lift maintenance method avoids the substantial costs and time required for complete emptying, cleaning, and readjustment.
  • The project requires continuous operation and is not allowed to be stopped for a long time.
