The Hyperbolic Surface Mixer is a high-capacity liquid mixing and low-speed propulsion system developed by our company. Its core component is a unique hyperbolic surface impeller, engineered to generate gentle yet extensive hydraulic circulation. Primarily used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment processes, it serves as an essential component in anaerobic tanks, anoxic tanks, equalization tanks, and homogenization tanks. This equipment ensures uniform medium mixing within the tanks, prevents sludge accumulation, and creates optimal fluid conditions for biochemical reactions.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The device is mainly composed of the following parts:

  • Drive mechanism: Typically employs submersible motors or dry-type motors with long shaft configurations. Submersible motors feature compact structures, while dry-type motors offer easier maintenance.
  • Hyperbolic impeller: The key working component of the equipment, constructed from FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) or stainless steel, with its curved surface engineered to guide fluid flow.
  • Installation system: includes guide rod, lifting chain, or fixed bracket, supporting horizontal or inclined installation for easy position adjustment and maintenance.
  1. Working Principle

When the impeller rotates, its hyperbolic surface structure guides the fluid flow.

  1. Along the surface acceleration: the impeller will guide the fluid at the far end of the pool along the surface to the edge of the impeller smoothly.
  2. Horizontal radial diffusion: Fluid is ejected horizontally from the impeller edge at a lower velocity and higher flow rate, forming a wide horizontal radial flow that drives the fluid movement near the pool wall.
  3. Vertical axial circulation: The horizontal flow turns to form two vertical circulation streams, thus achieving three-dimensional circulation from the center to the periphery and from the surface to the bottom of the tank, and achieving the purpose of uniform mixing.
  • Core technical features
  1. The flow field is large and the mixing is moderate. The design of the hyperbolic impeller focuses on the overall thrust to produce a large circulation, and the stirring is relatively moderate, which is helpful to reduce the shear of the activated sludge floc or the fragile bacterial floc.
  2. It is suitable for large capacity pool: its large range of flow field characteristics enables relatively effective overall mixing in larger volume pools.
  3. Flexible installation options: Available in both horizontal (submerged) and inclined (dry) configurations, adaptable to varying pool depths and site conditions.
  4. The operating energy consumption is relatively flat: when achieving large-scale circulation, its input power may exhibit different energy consumption characteristics compared to similar hybrid equipment.
