The rotary regulating weir is a precision water treatment equipment designed and manufactured by our company for accurate water level control or flow regulation. This device operates through a bottom-axis rotation mechanism, enabling continuous and stable adjustment of the water flow cross-sectional area by varying the opening degree of the weir plate's lower edge. It is primarily used in applications requiring precise liquid level or discharge flow control, such as water distribution wells in wastewater treatment plants, sequential batch reaction tanks (SBR tanks), rainwater storage reservoirs, and ecological flow discharge units.

  • Structure and Working Principle
  1. Core structural composition

The device is typically an integrated structure, primarily comprising the following components:

  • Door frame and door panel: The door panel is a rectangular structure with the same width as the channel, fabricated by welding steel plates. The door frame is precisely pre-embedded and installed to provide a sealing reference.
  • Rotation drive mechanism:
  • Drive mechanism: usually integrated waterproof electric actuator, providing direct rotation power.
  • Rotating spindle: Located at the bottom of the door panel, it is made of high-strength corrosion-resistant material and supported by heavy-duty bearings at both ends.
    • Sealing system: Elastic sealing strips (e.g., rubber) are installed on both sides and the bottom of the door panel to ensure water resistance at various opening angles.
    • The angle feedback and control system: integrated position sensor, can feedback the door opening angle in real time, and connected with the control system, to realize automatic control.
  1. Working Principle

The device is installed at the water passage cross-section of the channel or pool. When the actuator receives a control signal (e.g., from a level gauge or flow meter), it drives the rotating spindle to rotate, causing the door panel to perform a rotational motion of 0° to approximately 90° around its bottom axis.

  • Operation: The door panel rotates upward, widening the bottom opening to enhance flow capacity.
  • Closing and adjustment process: The door panel rotates downward to approach the bottom seal. By precisely controlling its rotation angle, a stepless continuous adjustment from fully closed to slightly open (millimeter-level opening) can be achieved, thereby enabling precise control of upstream water level or discharge flow.
